the Boo Boo

My sweet little Sandtrout had blood taken at the doctors office today. He cried, of course. And before he finally went to sleep he kept talking about his "boo boo" and pointing at the bandaid on his arm. I feel so terrible about it. :(
I feel worse about the endoscopy he has to have done in a couple weeks. Us long term refluxers have to get them now and then. I just hate putting a two year old through it. He won't even know what is going on. I hope he doesn't get mad at me.

Try to explain to him a little what is going to happen so he isn't too surprised but dont act like it's a big deal.

If he gets mad it won't be at you, but at authority. You just represent that to him right now. :)

Take him to the dollar store after and let him go nuts in the toy aisle. :) He'll forgive you and before he goes to bed that night, talk with him about his major toy score and he'll go right to sleep a happy little man. :)

Great ideas Annie! I already talked a little too him about it. I told him the doctor was going to use a special scope to look at his belly and see why it hurts so we can help it not hurt anymore. I told him it would all be done while he was sleeping so he wouldn't remember a thing. Plus I'm going to make him some special sparkley jello and ice pops. Yum. :)

Have you ever made ice-cream cone cupcakes? You just fill the cones a bit over halfway with your batter and then place the cones on a cookie sheet and cook normally. The rise up into cupcake ice-cream cones. :)

They're great for parties because you don't need plates and the kids can ice and decorate them themselves.

That is an awesome idea, Annie! Maybe I'll try it. I've never heard of that, but it sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks. :)
