3 teens arrested for attack on boy

This is sick, and I can't believe it happened in the town right next to mine. These kids should be charged with attempted homicide. :/

Two 17-year-old Franklin boys were jailed Thursday after holding an 11-year-old boy against his will, beating him and stabbing him with a kitchen paring knife, Franklin police said.

Charges also are expected against a 15-year-old boy in the same incident, according to police.

Officers said the 11-year-old Franklin boy was made to stay inside 1335 Chestnut St. against his will just after 2 p.m. Thursday and was not allowed to leave. The three assailants held the boy down and removed his clothing and shoes, wrapping his head in a blanket, police said.

The boy was punched, struck with a golf club and stabbed with the kitchen knife, according to police. He was eventually released from the house and again assaulted near the 14th Street playground as he was leaving, police said.

Officers did not indicate if the same three boys were responsible for the second assault, but the 11-year-old's bicycle was taken from him in that incident.

Once the boy broke free, he went to the Franklin police department and officers secured a search warrant for 1335 Chestnut St.

Franklin police and state police officers searched the home, recovering "evidence of the assault", and one of the 17-year-old suspects was arrested and taken to the Franklin police department.

After an interview and consultation with Venango County District Attorney Marie Veon, it was determined the 17-year-old will be charged as an adult for felony crimes of aggravated assault and unlawful restraint.

The other 17-year-old and the 15-year-old also were taken to the Franklin police department, and police said the older one also would be charged as an adult, with the younger being charged by juvenile petition.

Both 17-year-olds were arraigned before District Judge Robert Boyer and placed in the Venango County jail to await a hearing on Wednesday. Police said the seriousness of the crime warranted their being charged as adults.

The 15-year-old was placed in juvenile detention to await a hearing before a judge, police said.

It scares me! The thought of them doing this to a boy the same age as my sweet nephew! And I am raising a kid in a town not far from there. Why are people so evil?

Sick sick sick! Those kids need to be locked up for a major amount of time. Its a shame that they'll get a slap on the wrist. Nothing compared to what they SHOULD get. And people wonder why I watch my son when he walks up the street to his friends house.

No kidding! Where were their parents? I wish these kids would be locked up for a lifetime, but they will just get a slap on the wrist and then be a burden on society. No doubt they will be back in court in a few years for rape or murder or both.
